Drainage District No. 2
Matagorda County Drainage District No. 2 was established in 1912 to construct and maintain drainage ditches throughout Northeast Matagorda County.
MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm and open to the public.
HISTORY
Matagorda County, located between Galveston and Corpus Christi along the Gulf Coast, was established in 1836. The geography ranges from a wide expanse of prairies to creeks, rivers, lakes, bays and coastal regions of the Gulf of Mexico.
Four drainage districts operate in Matagorda County. Drainage District No. 2 is responsible for constructing and maintaining the drainage ditches of the Northeast portion of the County.
